Landscapes will always be my greatest source of inspiration. Regularly going out for walks has given me an appreciation of the environments around me and the energy flowing through them.

In my work, I aim to capture moments in time to preserve memories and explore the senses beyond just what is seen. I hope to pass the emotions associated with these memories to the viewer. Working at varying levels of abstraction, I produce mainly large-scale paintings. These paintings display landscapes that I have seen whilst walking and travelling or the feelings associated with being truly present at that time.

I’m very experimental so use a wide range of media. Primarily using oil or acrylic paint, I incorporate sculpted elements with clay, fabrics and paper. This greatly emphasises the textures seen in the landscapes and adds further elements of visual interest.

As someone interested in film, I regularly record the processes that make my pieces or their locations, creating time-lapses or short films. This is an interest that I want to pursue further and aim to demonstrate at my open studio this year.
