Nicola Tremain

Hello, I’m Nicola and I’m a painter based in a lovely converted barn on the North Downs. I paint colourful semi-abstract landscapes, still lifes and portraits. My work is intuitive, each painting is unplanned and evolves on the panel. I use acrylic paints for their immediacy, and spray, smear or scrape the paint as I explore my memory and imagination. Abstracts can become landscapes, still lifes or portraits and vice versa: the history of this journey partially visible, creating unexpected depth and texture.

Work for sale
Prices start at £50 for drawings on paper, £250 for small paintings and £600+ for larger pieces.

Place to eat
We are a short walk from the Starbucks on the A23, and good pubs such as the White Hart in Chipstead, Well House Inn in Mugswell, The Harrow in Chaldon are a short drive/long walk.

Transport Details
The 405 bus stops at Church Lane a few minutes walk from the house. We are between Merstham and Coulsdon South Stations.
