Rachel Mulligan Stained Glass

Rachel tells stories inspired by medieval art and the changing seasons. She has produced many commissions over the years including windows for Haslemere Museum and many homes around Surrey. Godalming Museum purchased her Labours of the Months series for their permanent display. Exhibition panels inspired by the COVID pandemic and the Seven ages of Man have been exhibited at the Stained Glass Museum in Ely.

Working closely with Charterhouse school, Rachel has helped save some of their Victorian windows that have been in storage for ninety years. There is an ongoing project to clean, re-lead and repurpose the Clayton & Bell windows from the original chapel. Many of the pieces will be on display during the open studios.

To help keep stained glass skills alive, Rachel teaches workshops using mouth-blown glass that is increasingly difficult to get hold of. She also has a stock of historic Victorian reclaimed glass that students can use.

Rachel is a Fellow and Co-Chair of the British Society of Master Glass Painters and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers. She has been participating in Surrey Artists Open Studios since 2002 and won Surrey Artist of the Year in 2014.

The studio is located in a wildlife garden close to Farncombe Station. All welcome.
