Rose Cottage Garden Studio

The studio features the work of two local artists who use a variety of media to create figurative and semi-abstract paintings inspired by the South Downs, the sea and their travels. Here you will find work with acrylics, water colours, pastels and mixed media on paper and canvas, framed and un-framed.

Positioned to overlook the beautifully designed natural garden of Rose Cottage this purpose-built creative space is in a modern studio that is flooded with natural light all year. It is located in the middle of the quiet and stunning village of Stedham, just outside Midhurst in West Sussex, close to the Surrey border. The Parish is within the South Downs National Park and is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Iping and Stedham Commons Local Nature Reserve is on the doorstep. This is 308 acres of rare lowland owned and managed by the Sussex Wildlife Trust.

Behind the studio you will see St James Church which has one of the oldest yew trees in the country (2500 years old)  situated in the churchyard – well worth a visit.

The genre of paintings include landscape, seascape, beach scene, architecture, portraiture and figure painting. Sizes range from 30×40 cms (A4) to larger works up to 1m x 1m. All of the paintings are original and signed.

Tea, coffee and cakes are available – come and relax and enjoy our beautiful garden.  Parking is available on the street in the village close to the house.
