Trying to encapsulate the beauty and emotional pull of nature has been a lifelong pursuit for Surrey‑based artist Sophie Mogford‑Revess. With a background in textiles and 3D fashion design, Sophie brings a strong sense of colour, movement and texture to her bold landscape paintings.

Her work is inspired by time spent outdoors — running across open landscapes, wild swimming, and travelling through varied environments. These experiences inform expressive paintings that aim to capture not just a place, but the feeling of being immersed within it: the joy, freedom and awe found in nature.

Sophie’s practice is shaped by her travels and exposure to a wide range of artistic traditions, from Chinese landscape painting to Impressionism. She regularly works from sketches made on location using oil pastels, later reimagining these moments on a larger scale in acrylic back in the studio.

Visitors to the studio will find vibrant, joyful landscape paintings that celebrate colour, energy and emotion, alongside insight into Sophie’s creative process and the outdoor experiences that inspire her work.
