My paintings are abstracts in watercolour and pastel, and cityscapes in oils.
The abstract mosaics comprise up to ten thousand painted marks, identical in size but enormously varied in colour. They require strict periods of up to twenty hours in the studio, spread over three days, painting in total silence. The result is a fascinating, intricate image that is simultaneously a record of its own creation.
The column paintings explore the energy of repeated colour sequences, or ’Colour Rhythms’, and often reflect the overtones of impermanence in the colours of autumn, or in the oxidisation of metal.
The cityscapes capture the noise and energy of the city – the lights and reflections – the traffic – and also the sense of paths converging and then diverging for ever.
Framed paintings from £150 - £500. Unframed paintings from £50 Payment by bank transfer.
