Yeside Linney

Predominantly a landscape painter, Yeside Linney, a Nigerian-born Surrey artist enjoys subjects which take her breath away. She draws much of her inspiration from her natural environment, literature and her travels. A self-taught artist, Yeside enjoys challenging herself to explore the abstract and the familiar. Through acrylic paint and mixed media, her passion for life is conveyed through layers applications of texture, playing on notions of the visible and invisible. Despite breaking on to the art scene only three years ago she has had considerable success: awarded Runner Up in the 2021 Surrey Artist of the Year competition and was a selected artist for an exhibition of works inspired by the Surrey landscape - Heartlands Exhibition - at the notable Watts Gallery, Guildford. More recently, she received national recognition winning both The Euan Millar Abstract Prize and The Susan Angoy Prize in The Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize 2022.
