Caroline Brodie

Caroline\'s paintings are a direct response to nature, she is preoccupied with colour, light and atmosphere and it\'s portrayal in oils. She trained in figurative painting and drawing at London Fine Art Studios, and Heatherley School of Fine Art, which provided her with a good structured background in traditional oil painting techniques, presently she is interested in developing a more expressive and impressionistic style, and she enjoys mark making with thick oil paint. Being outside and capturing a moment in nature is challenging and inspiring - she will often finish a piece in the studio once a day\'s work outside is done. She enjoys painting locally in Sussex and Surrey, and Hampshire, the coastlines of Dorset, Devon and Cornwall are also favourite places to visit. Recently she has been fortunate enough to exhibit at Chelsea Art Society\'s Summer Exhibition as well as with the Surrey Artist Open Studios Exhibition at West Horsley Place, Horsley, Surrey.
