Spinning, weaving and dyeing

After starting my teaching career in Primary schools I moved on in the 80’s to concentrate on my love of all things fibre related. I worked for many years teaching textiles at Lord Mayor Treloar college in Alton. An Author of five books the first being “Dyeing in Plastic Bags’ which was written in 2001 and still remains very popular today. Other books include further dyeing techniques including dyeing wool, making coil pots from fabric strips and Kumihimo braiding. Since our son emigrated to Australia, my husband and I are lucky to make regular visits ‘down under’. It was there that I was introduced to firstly spinning and then to weaving and I haven’t looked back! I just love the structure formations of weaving and also the opportunity to play with colour which it still my first love. I have taught workshops in America as well as Europe and Australia and I have a spacious studio in Grayshott where I also hold workshops for small groups
