John Hutchens

I worked in advertising and design agencies in London and the South East as a visualiser and graphic designer before becoming director of a design consultancy in Epsom. It was always my plan to give up working in commercial art and spend the rest of my days 'living to paint’. I've been fortunate over the last 18 years to have done just that, and in the process, travelled to some wonderful locations, meeting and painting alongside some very talented painters many of whom are now great friends. Recently I have become a member of both the Dorking Group of Artists and the Surrey Hills Plein Air Painters and, after 15 years of painting mainly in Devon and Cornwall, I am pleased to painting in the Surrey Hills.
