Lindsay Sword

Lindsay Sword began watercolour painting for relaxation while a busy GP in the noughties. She was fascinated from the outset by big skies and cloud formations. During a year-long sabbatical on the South Island in New Zealand she began using acrylic paints under the guidance of two prominent acrylic artists and found that this medium best suited the vivid, almost unbelievable blues of the skies, seas and lakes there. Back in England she continues to depict landscapes both near and far, usually with acrylics, but sometimes, depending on the subject, in watercolour. Her style is realistic, and she tends to pick out the smallest of details to punctuate her work.
