Marion Deacon
Painter
The art I create celebrates and explores the simple beauty of our landscapes. A tree is so much more than a tree. Colour plays a vital role in my work and the richness of depth is achieved through using a multi layered, mixed media approach. Often 10+ layers are applied before a piece is completed.
I use a process where the painting is turned upside down and the raw force of gravity is used to allow paint and ink to flow and seep across the surface. This technique has been explored and honed so that a fresh excitement is visible in my paintings. Few artists have incorporated this technique so successfully, but I have, meaning my paintings have a unique quality.
Textures are created through freedom and love meaning the art works encapsulate the true essence of being in the landscape. Love is an action that creates elation and connection.
Collectors resonate with these passionate, joy-filled paintings and irrespective of the degree of abstraction used to create the piece, they explain ‘it is obviously work by Marion as it celebrates life, love and adventure’.
I am a sincere, heart-led artist whose passion for life, family and adventure shine out of my paintings.
