Parul of The Sea

Contemporary Watercolour Artist

ARTIST BIO - Parul has developed her art skills throughout her childhood and education. She received a BA hons Jewellery Design degree from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in 1999 and in 2018 she completed a course on Sustainability in Leadership at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability. From 2018, Parul has organically grown her art practise as a response to her emotional need for balance. Her practise became an important space for her to reclaim her identity after 2021 when a family illness shook the structure of her life. Parul's work is on permanent display at BlueHouse artspace in Esher as well as in International collections........... ARTIST STATEMENT - Parul employs marine inspiration to feed the visuals in her work while the emotions creating and emanating from the work are reflective of the state of her heart and mind at the time of painting. She believes that we are nature and therefore we are connected to all nature even those places which at times may feel strange and distant and so she seeks to re-connect with nature's wild biodiversity and also with herself. She is implored to paint and draw as part of a practise that is an ongoing attempt of achieving a calm mind and heart, in Sanskrit known as Abhyasa and uses impermanent materials that will eventually biodegrade back into nature.
