Stefanie Smith

I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2000 with a degree in Applied & Media Art and the following year trained to be an art teacher, specialising in printmaking. Teaching has allowed me to explore and love virtually every medium that I discover, however in more recent years I have enjoyed focusing on my own work and getting back to printmaking - particularly mezzotint, collagraph and etching. In preparation for work, you will find me in the woods with my Labrador, Flo, listening and studying birds, fungi and flora and looking for the tiny details that each season has to offer - often with a sketchbook in hand. My work has been exhibited in the V & A -London, New Designers in Islington and more recently with Ironbridge Fine Arts as part of their Printmakers exhibition.
