SUZANNE PEARSON ART I was born and grew up and worked in London. I went to St martin’s then onto Goldsmiths to do a graphics/ communications degree. I then retrained as an interior designer and had my own practice for 22 years. I have always painted but in 2020 I decided to paint full time. As a graphic and an interior designer my work is a connection of these 2 disciplines. This creates strong expressive paintings with shapes, typography, pattern, texture and colour. It’s all about the connection and juxtaposition of things, whatever they might be. My portraits, which are a new form of painting for me, are mostly to do with the amazing fabrics, patterns and colours of twisted and piled up headscarves. Black women’s features and skin tone are very strong and a joy to paint. I am self taught. I work in acrylics and mainly paint on canvas and board. I am working towards producing a fulsome body of work to exhibit and sell.
