Glass maker  |  Visit Open Studio

After moving out of London and leaving a career in environmental design (town planning and landscape architecture), I returned to university to study glass. I have had a life long passion of making things from textiles to resin and painting. Glass is the material I chose, due to its vibrancy and clarity. I specialise in casting glass - I love all the complex processes involved in casting and cold working to a high polish. In addition to degrees in archaeology & ancient history, town planning and landscape architecture, I graduated in 2013 with a First Class Honours degree in glass and then an MA (Merit) from UCA in Farnham. I was selected for the prestigious "Rising Stars" exhibitions of 2015 & 2016. This is a national selective exhibition showcasing new and emerging craft talent in the UK. I was Artist in Residence at the University for the Creative Arts in 2016-17, where I was able to further develop a body of work comprising complex layered sculptures informed by the concept that "we all leave a trace". I now practise in my studio in the garden where I make work that sells in galleries from Cornwall to Northumberland, I also sell at craft fairs and online galleries such as Handmade in Britain. I am a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen, the Contemporary Glass Society, the Crafts Council Makers Directory and the Just Glass group of glass artists. I am a member of Anti Copying in Design (ACiD).
