A self-taught artist, my practice coalesces an array of mediums. While my practice is based in acrylics, I take on a mixed media and collage-style process that brings together oil pastels, spray paints, colored pencils, and paper. Working in an intuitive manner, I allow my senses and emotions to guide the work. A fondness for street art, old peeling poster walls, concrete and plaster undoubtedly shows up in my work. I enjoy scratching through paint to reveal hidden fragments of the under layers and may include some stamp, stencil or collage elements to break up the paintings’surface layer, offering the suggestion a ‘well loved’ and lived-in look. In a visually manifested stream of consciousness, my hand reaches for whichever medium calls to me. I offer commissions, working with clients to create bespoke artwork incorporating their preferred size, colours and substrate in my distinctive style to suit their space. Custom pieces can can include subtle but meaningful details - initials, names, dates, special words or phrases – whatever brings joy, can be discreetly woven into the layers /design. No one piece is the same, but every piece is made with love.
