I like to think I am a creative experimenter who has now found 'the one'. At school, I enjoyed dress-making (yes, there was a time when it was actually taught in schools). Since then I have designed greetings cards, wedding stationery, dabbled (not literally) in resin, tried calligraphy, alcohol art, pottery, garden design and making silver jewellery, which I love. However, top of my creative loves is mosaic art. Compared with some, I am fairly new to this gorgeous creative art and I really don't know how I have managed to miss out on it for such a long time. I love it; it's relaxing, allows me to either produce a design or just let the colours and shapes decide what the finished piece will be. I started out using glass and ceramic tiles, but it's almost endless what can be used to create a piece of mosaic art: wood, slate, bricks, shells, stones, old jewellery, china, pins and my new find: crushed glass. I am sure there are lots of other materials suitable for making a mosaic with. My range includes pieces for the garden: to place on poles, hang from trees or fix on walls/fences. My inside work is also for placing on walls, as well as pieces to hang on trees and pots of branches. The sparklier the better.
