Tatarekpottery

I started throwing pottery in 2019, I have enjoyed creative activities since childhood, a journey that has taken me through drawing, painting, embroidery, cake decorating, face painting, house design and paint your own pottery, among others. But as soon as I got my hands on clay, I felt I had finally come home, it was love at first sight (or touch). After a career in mechanical engineering, motherhood and a brief dalliance with property development, I am now in the privileged position to be able to pursue pottery full time. I had just set up my own studio as lockdown started and in the following months, with few other distractions, I found my signature style by carving designs into the surface of my thrown pieces at the leather hard stage. I love the extra depth created by the glaze pooling in the carving. I take inspiration from many sources and styles, throughout history and the world, but I have a special love of the Arts and Craft movement and nature.
