Tatarek Pottery & Gonpotty

Tatarek Pottery is all about colour and texture, I make hand thrown stoneware pottery carved with freehand designs. Pieces are glazed in translucent colours that pool in the carved texture to increase the depth of the designs. Individual designs are inspired from many sources but my overall style has developed from my love of the Arts and Crafts movement.

Gonpotty – Working predominantly in stoneware I create unique, one of a kind, hand built, functional pieces of work for everyday use.
I mix and layer glaze in an abstract fashion to create a surface that has movement, texture and form.
More recently I have moved into hand painting simple deconstructed illustration and images on my work using underglazes and then coating them in a high gloss transparent glaze to bring out the underglaze colours and tones.
