Chris says, ”I have drawn and painted ever since I was a child. I’m pretty much self-taught and self-learnt. I draw my inspiration from many sources: the countryside, travel, people, and the work of other artists. I work predominantly in the water-based mediums of watercolour and acrylic, but also oil. My subjects cover landscape, cityscape, figure work, genre and portraiture. Each subject and medium has its own interest and challenge. As to my style, I am a figurative painter but am not averse to venturing into whimsy, caricature and abstraction when the feeling takes me.

”I exhibit regularly with Tadworth Art Group and Surrey Artists’ Open Studios. I have also shown my work at AppArt in Godalming, The Children’s Trust, Denbies Wine Estate, The Rye Café in Ashtead, and have completed a number of commissions.”

Peter’s principal medium is pastels. ”I paint both landscapes and seascapes, in many cases with a continental theme focusing on sunlight and shade. A key feature of Peter’s work is his portraits and figure painting. I also work in oils and watercolour on a variety of subjects, including an area of particular interest, automotive art some of my paintings appearing in veteran and vintage car enthusiast magazines. Like, Chris, I’ve been a member of TAG for over 20 years.”
