Philip Ryland

Philip is a fine Artist working on small and large scale paintings and drawings. Most of his inspiration comes from walking around the area known as Caesars Camp, the military heathland near his home studio. Working from photos and drawings he goes through a series of processes to push the work into varying degrees of abstraction. Drawing is an important tool and he has begun to use silverpoint and thread to try and recreate a similar effect in small works. Philip is currently Artist in Residence at Barfield School and is the lead Artist for The Big Draw, and event to be held at The Farnham Maltings this October. He has shown work internationally and has worked on a number of private and corporate commissions in the UK. From his studio he also runs small classes for all ages and abilities.
