Rebecca (Portrait and Fine Art Photographer) and Jo (Fine Artist) will be showing their collection of work at Rebecca’s Photography studio in Cobham for the first time. They a have a shared love of colour, texture and movement within nature and create work that evokes feelings of joy, calm and positivity.

Jo is a contemporary artist living and working from her home studio in Surrey and her studio at Wimbledon Art Studios, London UK.
Jo works in Acrylics and Oils, and has been exhibiting in group shows and art fairs in Surrey and London for three years. Jo was Longlisted for VAA Professional Artist of the Year Award 2022 and 2023. Jo has shown in a group exhibition in London this year and has also shown at West Horsley Place and Wimbledon Open Studios.

Jo paints with speed and expressive strokes and enjoys working on a larger scale where she has the space to develop her ideas as part of her creative process. Jo’s background in graphic design and her love of strong mark making has developed her artistic style. By breaking out of regimented grids and direct visual messages, and using colour, tone, texture and shape, Jo creates intuitive spontaneous paintings to connect with the viewer.

Rebecca has a BA Hons in Photography from Norwich School of Art and Design and began her career in the magazine industry shooting fashion stories for Elle magazine after she won their new talent competition. Fast forward 20 years and she continues to work as a professional portrait photographer. Her work is still very influenced by the storytelling elements of editorial photography from where she started. Her sensitive and empathic nature means she gets a huge amount of enjoyment in encouraging her less confident clients to feel relaxed and let their truest self to come out.

She has always been a natural observer of life and when she is not photographing people, you will find her immersed in nature with her camera. From the glow of warm morning light to the calming colours of wildflowers, nature’s beauty is where she get much of her inspiration and she has recently found a new love of capturing these feelings in the form of fine art photography.
